Hypnosis is not a magic – it is a science! It works by creating a surge of brainwaves similar to what you experience during REM sleep. This is what allows you to access the subconscious mind. It’s very simple, and anyone can do it.
The experience feels different for everyone. Some people feel a floating sensation, and some do not. Others may feel sleepy, and some may not. Most people feel relaxed and at ease. The important thing to know is that the feeling is not an indicator of how effective the process is. Regardless of how it feels – it works.
No. You are in complete control. You cannot be forced into anything and you cannot be put into hypnosis against your will.
No. You are awake, alert, and aware of everything that is happening during the session.
No. That is a misconception. You are in full control the whole time. You can talk, move your body, or get a tissue if you need one. If the session is happening online and our connection is interrupted, you might drift off to sleep if you are really relaxed, but eventually, you will notice that you’re no longer hearing my voice and open your eyes.
Since you are not asleep, you will not wake up. If you feel the need to open your eyes during the session, you can do so. I will then guide you back into relaxation. And if you really do fall asleep, that is perfectly okay. After all, you will be very relaxed. I will then gently bring you back into the session.
Hypnosis has a long-term, lasting effect, provided you listen to your personalized audio for at least 21 days after the session. There’s no expiry date to your Bespoke Hypnotic recording. You may listen to it as long as you like.
I start by guiding you into a very relaxed hypnotic state. You are always in control and will remember everything afterward. In this relaxed state with access to your subconscious mind, we will look at scenes from your life to find out where your deeper beliefs (that drive your current behavior) come from. These beliefs are blocking you in your life today. We will dissolve and transform any negative beliefs into positive patterns of action. Finally, you will receive a Bespoke audio recording personalized for you that you will listen to consistently for at least 21 days after the session.
The amazing thing about an RTT® session is that even if you think you know the cause, you’ll see the situation in a totally new way. This is what allows you to change your perspective and ultimately change your beliefs. Many clients remember scenes that are completely different from what they expected. You just need to relax and trust that your subconscious will show you exactly what you need to see. Remember, if you knew the real reason for your problem, you probably would have fixed it by now.
The session always ends with a so-called transformation, which means what you wished for at the beginning is strengthened and manifested at the end. Shortly after the session, you may feel tired or exhausted and feel like you are not yet fully back. We always do a debriefing after the session to talk about your experience. In the following days, you may find that images and emotions from your subconscious come up repeatedly to be worked on. This can happen both in your sleep, i.e., in your dreams, and while awake during your day. This is a good sign that your system is working and reorganizing itself. It is very important to listen to the personalized audio for the following 21 days so that any positive changes achieved will stabilize. Our subconscious mind otherwise has a tendency to revert to old patterns and behaviors. We will remain in contact after the session and support you through the process.
Many clients describe the hypnosis and trance states as similar to the feeling you have just before falling asleep. During the hypnosis, you may notice a change in how you’re feeling and thinking and in your physical state. Typically, you will feel a deep sense of relaxation resulting in calmer breathing, the slowing of your heartbeat and pulse, relaxed muscles, and a change in facial expressions (the facial muscles become relaxed, and sometimes your mouth opens). Your body will feel calm and relaxed without a desire to move immediately. Sometimes, involuntary muscle movements and twitches occur.
Don’t worry about how deep you go – it really doesn’t matter. The depth of the trance has nothing to do with the results, so do not get stuck on the question, “Am I deep enough?” Just tell yourself, “This works,” and it will work.
Every person is different, and depending on how deeply you work, you may come out of the session jumping with excitement, or you may feel a sense of pensiveness or wonder. You may also discover more about yourself after the session. Whether you feel energized or thoughtful, you will always leave our practice with a sense of understanding, freedom, and empowerment.
Hypnosis gives you direct access to the ‘reasons’ that determine why you do what you do and how you react, which is why RTT® can save you hours, or even years, of talk therapy, searching for the root cause. The source of our problems typically comes from our childhood perspective of events that happened to us at a young age. If you observe yourself during those childhood moments while under hypnosis, you can re-experience them with a new understanding and compassion, making it relatively easy to let them go. New beliefs will then be embedded into your subconscious to replace the outdated ones. The upgraded beliefs will help you move forward.
Sometimes, it takes more than one session to work through an issue if it is not clearly delineated or interwoven. In this context, we refer to this as short-term therapy (maximum of 5 sessions).
One of the best side effects of hypnosis is a feeling of inner freedom and relaxation. As old patterns are worked through, the body sometimes needs time to realign. Experience has shown that some clients feel tired and exhausted immediately after the session. Plan time for yourself after the session. In the days that follow, you may experience increased dreaming, repressed feelings, or initial restlessness. This is completely normal and is part of the process. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
I work with a wide range of issues, from low confidence & self-esteem, anxiety, stress, depression, and fears to physical issues such as excess weight, food disorders, addictions of any sort, insomnia, nail biting, skin picking, and many more.
You can. Anyone can. If you have the desire to go into hypnosis, you will. It is an easy, enjoyable, and deeply relaxing process.
RTT® is designed to give you a powerful breakthrough and help you make big changes in your life. Some clients need more than one session on a particular issue. Depending on how deep-rooted it is, you may need up to five sessions. After seeing the incredible, rapid changes that RTT® brings, many clients choose to continue working on other areas of their lives and will have more sessions to integrate the new beliefs and build new habits and behaviors.
You will receive an audio recording personalized to you and the issue we worked on after your session, which you will listen to for three weeks. Therefore, it makes sense to have your next session after four weeks. In urgent cases, we can arrange to shorten this period.
There are three types of change that RTT sessions bring:
- Immediate: you feel a massive change immediately in your physiology, thoughts, and behavior. e.g., no need for a cigarette.
- Cumulative: you see consistent improvements day by day or over time.
- Retrospective: you don’t see any change immediately, but one day, you will suddenly look back and be able to see all the things that have changed in your life.
You may experience a combination of all three types.
Yes, regression is an extremely valuable way to discover the cause of a problem. You will not be reliving a certain moment; you will simply be observing events or experiences from your past. Many clients find the observer role – we sometimes call it the detective role – extremely exciting because they are not reliving a painful situation but looking at it and recognizing their own thoughts and emotions as simple age-appropriate reactions that once discovered, can be resolved.
No. You are alert and in control during hypnosis, and you decide for yourself what information you want to share and what you do not. What really matters for dissolving inner blockages are the emotions that have arisen in a certain situation. It is enough to work with the emotions and thoughts about yourself that were occurring in that moment.
If you remember scenes from your life that involve things like sexual or physical abuse or other trauma, it is important to know that you are not reliving that scene. You are just reviewing it, and you are safe while doing so. I will support you and create a safe space to express your emotions and work your way through them.
Talk therapy begins with an initial consultation, with follow-up sessions arranged if the chemistry between the therapist and the client is good. Depending on the topic, therapy usually takes longer because it works on the conscious level. It takes more time to get to the root of the issue by unfolding the layers of the conscious mind. With hypnosis, it happens faster because access to the subconscious is instantly established.
In general, hypnosis can only be used if the client wants to be hypnotized. However, as with any form of treatment, there are so-called contraindications to hypnosis, i.e., illnesses, symptoms, or circumstances that prohibit the use of a drug or other method.
Contraindications for hypnosis include:
- acute psychoses and delusions/schizophrenia
- acute epilepsy
- perceptual disorders or difficulties in understanding speech
- taking psychotropic drugs
- acute heart disease
If you suffer from one of the above-mentioned illnesses, hypnosis may only be carried out after consultation with your doctor.
